A construction with shelters for bats and swallows, placed in- or near an urban environment that will reduce the mosquito population.

Mosquitos can spread diseases and are able to travel for many miles inside recycled tires and other water containing objects as larvae. Exotic Mosquitos bring exotic diseases such as the schmallenberg virus that infected many sheep, goats and cows and was transported by the knut-mosquito to the netherlands. Putting a ‘Prikweg’ tower near areas of high risk, where exotic products are imported and stored will reduce the risk of a virus to spread.

Bats will do the work at night and swallows during the day. _DSC0051
